Recollections of the Population Forum
Notes of some on the things Art talked about ....

Workers loosing jobs to machines.

Workers are being killed on the job.

Retired workers had a signed agreement that gave them health care benefits - told these are being cut in half - part of buy-out of employment when jobs terminated.

Companies interested in profit .

It would be a sad day when 3 or 4 companies control all the timber.

Decisions made elsewhere, outside of the country.

Foriegn owned companies don't care about workers nor our economy.

People came from Europe and grew their own food - had too.

We could take wood and use it...can't anymore.

There are too many regulations.

There should be dog patches where people can do what they want.

Now people are coming and enjoying the work that others put in to make it better; however, there appears to be a decline in the number of volunteers.

An urban attitude, oriented to leisure and relaxation with an interest in regulation, may stifle active involvement in services for the community.
